Summary of Troy’s Interview with Jack on DEGN Talk
In a recent episode of DEGN Talk, Jack sat down with Troy to delve into his journey, insights, vision and all things REVOX — here’s a concise summary of their conversation.
REVOX is a decentralized AI platform that aims to be the next generation infrastructure for AI applications. A project dedicated to building a decentralized, modular, and user-owned AI application ecosystem. The inspiration behind REVOX stems from the frustration with centralized AI consumer products that often act as simple wrappers around closed APIs, lacking extendability and user ownership. Troy’s journey into Web3 was driven by the realization that AI innovation requires decentralization not just in computation, but also in ownership, incentive, and product architecture.
The project addresses a fundamental bottleneck in centralized AI apps, which rely entirely on opaque and centralized data and APIs, making decentralization difficult. The “aha moment” for REVOX came from recognizing that Web3 smart contracts and blockchain history provide public, permissionless, structured, and verified data sources. This allows REVOX to build fully autonomous AI agents that can live directly on-chain, interact with smart contracts, read/write on-chain data, and perform useful tasks across DeFi, NFT, and governance with full transparency and composability. This vision is referred to as a native AI Agent economy built upon decentralized infrastructure.
REVOX positions itself as the shared interface between AI developers and the underlying decentralized infrastructure. Comparing AI to the “next iPhone mobile moment,” REVOX is likened to the operating system that supports various applications and agents, allowing them to enjoy a consistent interface while being built on different environments (like OpenAI, io.net, or BitTensor).
Key products and initiatives highlighted include:
- REVOX Studio: A flagship product and the gateway for users and contributors to build decentralized AI applications and agents. It is a full stack with an SDK and a composable framework. It allows users to create agents simply, potentially in about five minutes. REVOX is iterating on it fast, adding features like self-served smart contract plugins, long sequence processing, and agent orchestration to enable complex multi-step AI flows. It will also become an SDK for more advanced developers.
- Lense + Smart Wallet: Also a flagship product, built entirely on the REVOX tech stack. It is currently the largest DApp on opBNB and potentially one of the most popular AI DApps on chain. It has 7 million UAW (Unique Active Wallets) and integrates with wallets like Binance Web3 wallet. It has over 700,000 KYC users.
- DEVA: A recent major milestone product. It allows users to create on-chain avatars or clones of themselves by uploading a photo and selecting a voice sample. This AI-powered version can then generate images, videos, TikToks, and even live streams. DEVA is live, and updates are planned over the next three months to make it a go-to Web3 platform for personalized AI avatars. It includes tokenomics where the on-chain clone can earn tokens to cover gas fees.
- REVOX Token ($REX): Positioned as a universal AI payment layer across the REVOX ecosystem. Users can stake $REX for AI credits or use it directly to access applications built on the platform. A major goal is to make $REX a standard AI payment across alliance projects, aspiring to be the “Apple Pay of AI”. There are two main payment methods: directly paying with $REX or “Stacking-to-AI”. “Stake-to-AI” involves staking $REX tokens to gain monthly membership access to applications, similar to Web2 subscriptions, but users retain ownership of their staked tokens.
- REVOX Alliance Program: An initiative where other projects build applications that support the $REX token as a payment method. This program aims to help alliance projects find users from the REVOX community and allows users to discover various AI applications with a unified payment method. Users can stake $REX to use applications in the program (“Stake-to-AI”). Loyalty and usage within the program can earn users a larger share of potential airdrops from alliance projects’ token launches. There are already 20–30 projects listed for the alliance program, with a goal of having hundreds within 2–3 months supporting $REX payment.
Since its launch (TGE in December 2024), REVOX has seen exciting progress. The $REX token is listed on major centralized exchanges. The ecosystem powers over 6 million active users, and the Lense DApp alone has 7 million UAW and significant KYC users.
The future roadmap for the next 6–12 months is going to be busy. Major focuses include shipping and updating DEVA, expanding developer tooling, and strengthening the economic backbone. This involves doubling down on REVOX Studio development, scaling the $REX token economy, growing the REVOX Alliance Program, building developer reward systems, open-sourcing tools, and launching airdrop events tied to user engagement. The ultimate goal is a future where AI and crypto are deeply integrated and designed for each other, with crypto serving as the critical infrastructure for AI.
